Laurel Touby’s Loft // SHoP & Jaqueline Touby

7

After selling her company Mediabistro Laure Touby invested a lot of time in her new home – an apartment in Manhattan. From the start she wanted to have an artistic home with unique furniture and design. The first thing Ms.Touby and Mr.Fine bought for their new apartment was a hand-woven leather, chain-mail and fur hammock designed by Jim Zivic.

Later, a rubber “fur” chair by Harry Bertoia was chosen for its tactile quality. SHoP Architects rebuilt the loft with lots of shiny surfaces. The kitchen was a collaboration between SHoP and Jaqueline Touby.
