Contemporary Russian ‘Dacha’ of Elena Gorodetskaya

‘Dacha’ means seasonal or year-round second home that is usually located on the countryside in Russia. This countryside house is modern by style, thus very different from typical image of traditional wooden houses. In the beginning the house was in a terrible state with little windows, so decorator Elena Gorodetskaya decided to make full renovation and widen the windows to let light come in.

There is not so much furniture in the house and the colour palette is quite playful. The reason of it is that the family has three children who like to run around and have lots of space for playing. The project resulted in an airy light space, where the kitchen is decorated with the copies of Cubism classics.
