Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs Exhibition

curated by Pamela Golbin, the show is a cultural analysis of the work and influence of two men: the luxury brand’s founder Louis Vuitton and its current creative director of 15 years, Marc Jacobs.

Showcased in a stellar set-up by designers Samantha Gainsbury and Joseph Bennet, the exhibition gives visitors an in-depth look at the fashion industry during two decisive periods, one beginning with 19th-century industrialization and the other peaking in 21st-century globalization. Spread over two entire floors of the museum, each devoted to one designer, Louis Vuitton trunks will be displayed alongside a selection of the museum’s 19th-century accessories and fashion items. A range of Marc Jacobs’s most emblematic designs are featured on the second floor [on through sep 16]. Location: 107 Rue de Rivoli.
